Graham Fraser passed away on September 2 in Mt. Vernon. An Anacortes resident since 1994, Graham enjoyed an active retirement with his wife Midge. After joining the Sunrise Kiwanis Club, he became a mentor for elementary school children in the K club and enjoyed participating in the club's committee to select high school scholarship winners. Graham was born in Falkirk, Scotland often said that Anacortes reminded him of his childhood in the port city of Grangemouth. He was active in Boy Scouts, went on to achieve the highest rank and stayed in touch with his fellow scouts throughout his life. His scout skills served him well in the British Army when he was stationed in Egypt and Palestine. After graduating from University of Glasgow, he immigrated to Canada, finding employment at a shipyard in Victoria. His fiancée, Margaret Graham Watson, (deceased) joined him in Victoria where they were married in 1953. They moved to California where he continued his career as a Naval Architect with PACECO, Crowley and Matson Navigation Company. He frequently traveled internationally on business and worked for a short time in Colombia, South America. He is survived by his wife Midge, daughter Karen Fraser-Middleton of Loomis, CA and her husband Mark, grandchildren Valerie and Kirk, four stepsons and granddaughters Nicole, Emma and Willa. A memorial gathering will held on Friday, September 26, from 2-4 PM at Skyline Beach Club in Anacortes.
