Gregory John Zimmerman, 77 of Burlington, WA, passed away on November 20, 2023, with family by his side.

Greg was born on November 17, 1946, to Royal Charles and Yvonne M (Pirsch) Zimmerman in Mt Vernon, WA.  He graduated from Immaculate Conception School, Mt Vernon High School, and Skagit Valley College.  Greg met his wife, Mary Sue Berwick, at Skagit Valley College and they married in 1969, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Mt Vernon.  The happy couple moved to Burlington soon after and lived there the rest of their lives.

Greg was preceded in death by his beautiful wife that he adored more than anything in this world, Mary Sue, in 2002.

A beloved father and grandfather, he is survived by three sons, Shelby Yates Zimmerman, Ryan Jay Zimmerman, and Travis John Zimmerman.  Along with five grandchildren, Dylan Jay Zimmerman, Miles Alexander Zimmerman, Penelope Paige Zimmerman, Izzy Sue Zimmerman, and Kamden Gregory Zimmerman.  Greg is also survived by his brother, Larry Charles Zimmerman.

Greg worked at several mills in the area, including Publisher's Paper Company in Anacortes, Mt Baker Plywood in Bellingham, and retiring from Kimberly Clark Pulp and Paper in Everett.  He was very active in the lives of his sons, coaching and refereeing youth athletics in Burlington.

After Mary Sue, his second passion was for restoring classic cars.  He fully restored a 1935 Ford Model 50 pickup and a 1957 Ford Ranchero.  He loved driving both pickups and entered his Ranchero in car shows throughout Washington, Oregon, Idaho, and British Columbia, winning numerous bests in show, best in class, sponsors pick, and people's choice awards.

A Funeral Mass will be held for Greg at 11:00am on December 7, 2023, at St Charles Catholic Church, 935 Peterson Rd, Burlington, WA 98233 with a reception to follow in the church hall.  Flowers can be sent to St Charles or a memorial donation in lieu of flowers can be made to Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center.
