Heidi Elizabeth Stendal (Novotny) passed away suddenly on December 16, 2021. She was born to Bud and Shirley Novotny on October 12, 1958, as the second youngest of five children. She graduated from Mount Vernon High School in 1976 and remained in Skagit County to be close to family and friends. Heidi worked in a wide variety of jobs from hairstylist to Sedro-Woolley Court Clerk, where she had a longstanding career up until retiring in 2021. Along the way, she made numerous friendships with so many people and made a lifelong mark on many lives and hearts.

Heidi met her soulmate, Eric Stendal in 1978. They were married on May 21, 1983, and made their home in Sedro-Woolley, having a daughter Emily in 1988.

Heidi's kindness was a gift to everyone she met, and her laugh was infectious. She loved her community, supporting numerous groups and organizations. She enjoyed spending time with her family, lunch with her friends, and keeping busy with knitting, baking, and decorating for the holidays, with Christmas being her favorite.

Heidi is survived by daughter Emily (Chris), sister Wendy Fore (Ron), twin sister Gretchen Hood (Curtis), brother Steve Novotny (LeeAnne), cousin Julee Bradshaw (Aaron), and their families, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. She is predeceased by husband Eric, parents Bud and Shirley, sister Connie Middleton, and aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A celebration of life will be held at Hawthorne Funeral Home, Mount Vernon, WA on Saturday, May 14, 2022, from 11:00am to 2:00pm.
