Hugh Harmon went to be with Jesus and reunite with his sweet wife Marion on September 7 ^th , 2022, in Burlington, Washington.

Hugh was born on July 19, 1923, in Los Angeles, California to Ralph and Florian Harmon. After serving in the Navy, Hugh joined the Los Angeles City Fire Department. He was proud to be a firefighter and loved every day of his working career until his retirement in 1976.

Hugh married Marion Lurker on January 22, 1949, and they enjoyed 72 years of marriage until her passing in November 2021. Together they raised a family, hiked, fished, traveled nationally and internationally, and spent many happy times at their beach house in Morro Bay, California.

In the fall of 2004, they moved to Mount Vernon, Washington. Here they found a church family at Bethany Covenant Church and a caring group of neighbors whose friendship they thoroughly enjoyed.

Hugh will be remembered for his sense of humor and kind heart.

Hugh was preceded in death by his wife Marion. They are survived by their children Sue (Mike) Salas, Don (Barbara) Harmon, and Carol (Eric) Harmon-Watilo; grandchildren Kym, Kari, Leah, Corey, Travis, Brittany and Emily, and 14 great-grandchildren; nieces "the Folger girls" - Kathy, Ginny, Alice and Donna; nieces Karen, Kris and nephew Ken.

The family would like to thank the staff of Creekside Continuing Care Community, the many staff of Hospice of the NW, and the Bethany Covenant Church Care Team who all provided such great and loving care for Hugh over the last 10 months.

A Celebration of Life for both Hugh and Marion will take place at 1:00 PM, December 7, 2022, at Bethany Covenant Church, 1318 South 18 ^th Street, Mount Vernon, Washington.
