Jack D. Burnham Jack D. Burnham of Mount Vernon, Washington was 80 years old when he passed away on June 4, 2010. He was born in Anacortes on September 23, 1929. Jack graduated from Oak Harbor High School in 1948. Jack lived a very successful life. He retired from his life's work as the manager of a refinery in Anacortes, Washington in 1988. Jack led an active life. He was a member of the Elks, Skagit Squares, enjoyed travel and fishing. Jack was a generous supporter of the Children's Hospital in recognition of the time he spent there as a patient when he was a young child. He is survived by his daughter: Jude (Brett) Galbraith; grandchildren: Carrie (Thad) Brusseau and Kaci Stewart (Ambrose Herrera); great-grandchildren: Riley Brusseau and Jake Stewart; siblings: Dayton Burnham, Paul Burnham, Violet Krone-Peters, Dorothy Schmidt; and his dear friend Betty Stewart; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, of over 30 years, Cora Burnham; brother: Bob Burnham; and his close friend Marie Haley. Celebration of Life will be held Thursday, June 10, 2010, 3:00 pm at Hawthorne Funeral Home, followed by a reception in the Hawthorne Reception Room.
