IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Jacob "Jack"
William Eisses
October 4, 2023
Beloved husband, father, grandpa, and friend, Jacob (Jack) William Eisses passed away peacefully October 4,
2023. Jack was born January 11th, 1946 in Ellertshaar, Holland, to William and Johanna Eisses. Jack immigrated
with his family to the United States at the age of 4, ultimately settling in Skagit Valley. The Eisses family
was a hardworking family who were extremely proud to become American citizens. Jack attended Mount Vernon
schools, graduating from Mount Vernon High School in the class of 1964. He went on to graduate from Skagit
Valley Community College and Lynnwood School of Business before serving in the United States Air National
Guard. He met the love of his life, Robyn Gayle Berg on the steps of Mount Vernon High School, and they later
married November 11th 1969. In 1972, Jack and Robyn welcomed their first son, Christopher Jacob Eisses, and in
1974 welcomed Jeffrey Scott Eisses. The young family moved to the country in west Mount Vernon in 1973,
where they resided together for almost fifty years. Jack was successful as a small business owner, in various sales
roles, and ultimately retired from the banking industry. Jack was a proud retired member of the McClean Road
Fire Department, prior member of the Kiwanis Club of Mount Vernon, member of Skagit Golf and Country
Club, and an active attendee of Christ the King Church. In his retirement, Jack enjoyed time on his farm. Whether it
was tinkering in his shop, working in his garden, or starting any number of new projects, he was always hard
at work. He loved spending time on the water with his family and friends, and always enjoyed bringing home his
limit of crab to share. Jack loved nothing more than the time spent loving his four granddaughters. Jack is
survived by his wife Robyn of Mount Vernon; his oldest son Chris (Christine), their daughters Emma and Abby of
Burlington; his youngest son Jeff (Cortney), and their daughters Addison and Hadley of Colorado. He is also
survived by his older brother Jim (Judy) Eisses of Idaho; Edna Eisses (sister-in-law) of Poulsbo WA; sister-in-law
Carol Arendse of Montana; and numerous nephews, their spouses, and their families. He was preceded in death by
his mother and father; oldest brother John; sister Henrietta; infant sister; father-in-law and mother-in-law
Don and Donna Berg; brother-in-law Ron Berg; and nephew Andrew Berg. Jack had a big personality, a
generous heart, always helped others, and always made his presence known. A man of strong faith, Jack loved the
Lord and was never in doubt of his home awaiting in Heaven. The family will hold a private gravesite service.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances are suggested to Christ the King Skagit, eldercareministries.org, or Skagit Valley
YMCA Summer Camp.
