James Orville Borden
Died Wednesday, February 24, 2016 in Mount Vernon, WA.
Born June 12, 1932 in Olympia, WA.
Jim served in the Army during the Korean war and earned 3 medals. He worked at Boeing as a drafting engineer in 1958 where he met and worked with his wife Bonnie and they married in 1959 and had 3 children. He worked various jobs until he formed a partnership with Alan Aramaki and the Engineering and Land Surveying business was named Aramaki, Borden and Associates, aka ABA, in Kenmore, WA.
Jim was a devoted Seattle Seahawks and Mariner's sports fan. He waterskied and played regional minor league baseball in the 60's and enjoyed playing golf and tennis later in life. As an avid hunter and fisherman, Jim liked to spend time with his brother hunting in Montana and fishing with his uncle. He also enjoyed taking vacations with his sister and socializing with his friends after work.
Jim was a member of the Land Surveyor's Association of Washington.
He is survived by his wife Bonnie and his 3 children Greg, Cheryl and Tracy and his grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, March 4, 2016 at 1:00pm at Hawthorne Funeral Home, 1825 East College Way, Mount Vernon, WA 98273.
Donations can be made to the Veteran Affairs, Wounded Warriors and Hospice.
