Jane C. Lacey, 82, died peacefully at home on Friday, August 10th, 2012. Jane was the second born child to james and Kathryn Svoboda on July 1, 1930 in Winner, South Dakota. The family settled in Burlington in 1938 where she attended school, graduating from Burlington-Edison High School in 1948. In August of 1951, she was united in marriage to Bill Lacey in Burlington, Washington, where they raised their family. They loved to go fishing and camping, and after their retirement they traveled to Arizona to spend the winters. Mom's love of travel continued after Bill's death. Whether by plane, train, automobile, or cruise ship, she took many special trips and made lots of new friends. Her last road trip had a purpose, to hit every state she had missed in her previous travels. She was proud to say she had visited all 50 states. Preceding her in death were her parents, her brother Bob, and husband Bill. Jane is survived by her daughter, Janet Lacey; son, Bob (Lori) Lacey; daughter, Kathy (Barry) Northcutt; son, Steven (Tina) Lacey; her grandchildren, Brad (Joanna) Mueller, Brenna (Chris) Peterson, Michael Lacey, Jeff Lacey, and Bronte Lacey; her great-grandchildren, Breckyn Mueller, Camryn Mueller and Brady Peterson; her sister-in-law, Marcella Lacey; her sister and best friend, Joan Fox; as well as many special nephews, nieces and friends. Private graveside services will be at Green Hills Memorial Cemetery in Burlington. Please join Jane's family at a Celebration of Life service at Salem Lutheran Church, 2529 N. LaVenture Road, Mount Vernon, WA at 1:00 pm Saturday, August 18.
