Janet “Fawn” Chichester

Janet Myfanwy Chichester, lovingly known as “Fawn”, passed away peacefully 8/1/2026 at the age of 83. Born in Phoenix, Arizona in 1943, Fawn Chichester lived a life filled with love, adventure, hard work, and a deep appreciation for the simple joys in life. Her parents were always by Fawn and her siblings’ side.

One of the things she loved most was commercial fishing. Fishing was more than simply something she did; it was a part of who she was and a reflection of her adventurous and independent spirit. Early on she worked at Mount Vernon Elks and Chevron, later she was the manager of the Anacortes Inn, she was proud of the work she did and the connections she made while there.

When she wasn't working, you could often find her in her garden or with her children, she cherished family and was an amazing host to all.

She shared many wonderful adventures with her beloved husband Bob Chichester of 36 years. Together they and their relationship remained an important part of her story.

Fawn Chichester will be remembered for her kindness, strength, independence, sense of humor, a ready laugh and adventurous spirit.

Fawn was preceded in death by her husband, Robert “Bob” Chichester, brother, John Hunter, and parents John Hunter and Janet Bartee.

Fawn is survived by her: children Carrie Hartz, Shawn Hartz, Scott Hartz (Doe) by her first marriage to Don Hartz; stepchildren, Bob Chichester (Elsa) and Richard Chichester; grandchildren, Phillip Denney, Trent Denney, and Blair Hartz; great grandchildren, Bo Chichester, Eva Chichester and Noelle Chichester; and sister Rebecca Dorcas (Wayne) along with many other family members and friends who loved her dearly.

She will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever carried in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
