IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Janet
Macculloch
October 2, 1944 – April 19, 2025
It is with great sadness that the family of Janet Louise MacCulloch (80) announces her passing on April 19, 2025, after battling Cerebral Amyloid Angiopathy, Dementia, and Vascular Parkinsonism. Janet never stopped fighting despite her health issues and dedicated herself to bringing joy to others. Her resilience and perseverance showed us what true strength means.
Janet was born in Seattle, WA on October 2, 1944, and graduated from North Central High School in Spokane, WA. She received a degree in Elementary Education from Eastern Washington State College in 1967. Janet married Ray Mac Culloch on August 19, 1967, in Spokane, WA.
Janet lived in Anacortes, WA, for 30 years and Mt. Vernon, WA, for 28 years. She was married for 49 years until her husband passed away from liver cancer in 2017. Janet taught elementary school in Anacortes Washington for a few years before raising three children. Janet loved spending time with her family, celebrating and decorating for all holidays, the tulip festival, arts and crafts fairs, music, and her beloved cat - Katie. She will be missed by her family and friends.
Janet is preceded in death by her husband (Ray MacCulloch), her parents (Lawrence and Gladys Sundberg) and her brother (Jim Sundberg). Janet is survived by her children (Lori McLaughlin, Lisa Woo, and Mike MacCulloch), seven grandchildren (Ashley Woo, Jessica Woo, and Austin Woo; Ryan and Kyle McLaughlin; Molly Mac Culloch and Bill MacCulloch), her sister Casey Prock, and brother David Sundberg.
Janet will be laid to rest on Sunday, May 4, 2025, in a private family memorial service. The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made in her name to Hospice of the Northwest or the Cerebral Amyloid Angiopathy Foundation. The family extends their sincere appreciation to the staff at Hospice of the Northwest for their invaluable support.
