Jean Elizabeth DeBoer went to be with the Lord on November 16, 2018 at home in Burlington, WA. Jean was born on November 19, 1939 in International Falls, Minnesota to Andrew and Hattie Orvalla. The family moved to Kirkland, WA in 1942. Jean was the youngest of three children. She had a brother Morris and sister Shirley. Jean attended the Lake Washington School District. She met and married Walter Claude Geddis, Sr. in 1956 and had three children (Skip, Kathy, and Andy). The family lived in Juanita, WA until 1968 and then moved to Skagit Valley where they operated an auto shop until Walter's passing in 1974. Jean later married Sidney DeBoer in 1976. They enjoyed many years of spending quality time with family and friends and traveling.
Jean had many hobbies including antiques, painting, traveling, history and DeBoer cutting horses.
Jean was an active member of many organizations such as the United General Hospital Guild and Auxiliary, Art League North Board of Directors, she volunteered at the Washington Cheese Plant, Questers, and was a member of the Alger Christian Reform Church.
Jean is survived by her husband Sidney DeBoer, children; Skip (Judy) Geddis, Kathy (Les) Whitehead, and Andrew (Tiffany) Geddis. She is also survived by her stepchildren; Neal DeBoer and MaryAnn Johnson as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at Hawthorne Memorial Park, Mount Vernon, WA on Tuesday, November 27, 2018 at 12:00pm. A celebration of life will follow at Mount Vernon Christian Reform Church at 1:00pm.
