Jean "Jeannie" Dews died July 30, 2006 at her home in Burlington. She was born July 15, 1938 in Bellingham,WA to Louis and Grace Larson. Jean grew up in Bellingham where she graduated from Bellingham High School and Western Washington University. She is survived by her loving husband, Donald Dews, of Burlington; her mother, Grace Larson of Bellingham; her daughters: Cristi Dews of Ferndale, Sharon Cody of Bellingham, Darla Henry of Mount Vernon and Tasha (Ken) Zahlis of Mount Vernon; her brother, Robert (Heather) Larson; one grandson, David Henry and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Louis Larson; and one brother, Ted Larson. Jeannie taught school for a period of time at Meridian and also worked for many years in the insurance industry. She was an active member of the Avon United Methodist Church. Her love of music kept her playing the piano and organ throughout her lifetime and she enjoyed playing to shut-ins at the nursing homes. After their retirement in 2002, Jeannie and Don enjoyed traveling to Arizona for the winters and just enjoyed being retired. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, August 12, 2006, 1:00 pm at Avon United Methodist Church followed by a reception.
