Jean W. Henry, 90, passed away February 1, 2026, in Sedro Woolley, WA. Jean was born in Blakeburn Canada on May 25, 1935, to Hugh McConnell and Margaret Dilys Williams. Later adopted by John William Dunn Cassidy. Moved to the United States in 1949. Jean attended Burlington-Edison High School graduating in 1953. She met her husband of 68 years Duane and they were married on June 20, 1953. Living in Sedro Woolley when first married but settled in Burlington where they raised 3 daughters. Jean worked at numerous jobs growing up with her final being at the Sandy's Children store in down town Mount Vernon.
Jean's hobbies were traveling in their motorhome with family, seeing most states. Jean and Duane worked on wood crafts for many years together and Jean continued the joy of making many crafts and seasonal decorations and give them away to her many friends. She was also an IOF member for many years making many friends traveling the state for visits. She was also a very active member of her Red Hats group always enjoying their adventures.
Jean is survived by her three daughters, Gail Vermilyea (Joe); Barbara McDermott (Mike) and Debra Duffy (Mike); six grandchildren, Jaime, Corey, Kim, Jennifer, Kramer, and Mikalann and 8 great grandchildren; one brother Murray (Pam) her sister-in-law Janet and many nieces and nephews that she adored. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers William (Bill) and George Cassidy. Nothing brought more joy to Jean then her family and friends.
We also want to thank County Meadows staff and residents for making mom feel very welcome those last couple weeks.
A celebration of life will be planned at a later date (May 26, 2026)
Memorials can be made to a charity of your choice or Children's Hospital.
