Jeanne Theresa Dube Jackson was born on July 7, 1937, in Yakima, WA to Almer William Dube and Vivian Genevieve Gregoire Dube. Jeanne deceased on October 4, 2021. She married Walter Scott Jackson, Jr. on July 7, 1962. They lived in Wapato, WA until 1969 when they moved to Friday Harbor, WA located on San Juan Island. They worked together to manage a cattle operation for noted author, Ernest K. Gann. In 1972 they moved to Mt. Vernon, WA. Jeanne assisted her husband in all endeavors as record keeper for the cattle operation and as secretary for his owner-operator trucking company, S. J. Trucking, which he started in 1977. She volunteered with her husband for six years with Saint Vincent de Paul Society in Mt. Vernon. Later they volunteered for six years with the Mt. Vernon Police Department's Citizen's on Proactive Patrol Program. Jeanne was a devout and life-long Roman Catholic. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church in Mt. Vernon. Jeanne was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Walter Scott Jackson, Jr; her parents; and in 2004 by her only sibling, Patricia Marie Wandler. She is survived by four step-children, Diane Jackson (Jim) of Burlington, WA, Larry Jackson of Yakima, WA, Gregory Jackson (Rae), of Yakima, WA, and Kenneth Jackson (Kimberly) of Woodinville, WA. She is also survived by eight step-grandchildren: Ronald, Janine, Yvonne, Shannon, Sarah, Casey, Amber,. and Kirk, and step-great grandchildren, Ethan, Elana, Moussa, and JJ. Jeanne is survived by nieces and nephews, Dan Jonas (Kathy) of Yakima, WA, John Dube (Julie) of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Kara Shepard of Wenatchee, WA, and Terry Jonas (Ron) of Yakima, WA. A funeral will be held at Immaculate Conception Church at 400 N. 15 St, Mt. Vernon, WA on Thursday, October 14 at 12:15 pm. A graveside service will be held at Calvary Cemetery at 1405 S. 24 Ave., Yakima, WA on Friday, October 15, at 12 noon.
