Jerry Patrick "Pat" Ozretich passed away on Monday, October 6th, 2014 from complications of GBS (Guillian Barre'Syndrome). He was born July 30th, 1937 in Anacortes, WA. He lived in Ronald, WA. until age 5 when his family moved to Mount Vernon in 1943. Pat attended MVHS where he participated in football and wrestling, graduating in 1956. Pat had three children: Clint, Doreen, and Rebecca and two step children: David and Michelle Barton. Pat married Doris Ray Barton in 1963. Together, they enjoyed gardening, dancing, and going to plays. They raised their grandchildren Damien and Danielle together. Pat and Doris celebrated 51 years of marriage in February of 2014. Pat worked at the Shell Refinery, delivered Raineer Beer in Skagit and Island County for 25 years, and worked as a Grounds Keeper at Anacortes General Hospital. After retirement, Pat spent nights as a caregiver at Secret Harbor working with Juveniles. He was a long time member of the Skagit Garden Club, the Moose Lodge, Eagles Club, and a Volunteer at the Neighbors in Need Food Bank. He recently began volunteering with Meals on Wheel. Pat was a talented gardener. Many enjoyed and will miss his beautiful Dahlias. Pat enjoyed bow hunting, and fishing. He took many hunting trips with his son Clint and grandsons. Pat especially enjoyed the company of his three great granddaughters: Bella Rose, Hannah Mae, and Virginia Ray. He could often be seen with his granddaughters around town at the Public Library, and the park. In total Pat had 13 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Jerry and Valerie Ozretich and son David Barton. He is survived by his brother Tom of Mount Vernon, WA. and Bob of Corvallis, OR. Services will be held at Hawthorne Funeral Home on College Way, Saturday, October 18th at 10am. Refreshments to follow. A special thank you to Tom Ozretich for writing the obituary.
