Joan Evelyn Brady (Leadbetter) passed away peacefully on March 19, 2024, in Poulsbo, WA, at the age of 89. She was born on June 19, 1934, Doe Bay, Orcas Island, Washington.

Joan was a creative and accomplished artist, veterinary assistant, and school office assistant. She had a passion for art, gardening, family gatherings, agate hunting, quilting, and exercise classes. Her selfless and patient nature shone through in her many volunteer roles at Salem Lutheran Church in Mount Vernon, WA, where she worshipped. She was very compassionate and gracious.

She is survived by her loving children Amy Gelineau, Julie Allison, and Mike Brady, sons-in-law Grant Gelineau and Reid Allison III, sister Janis Rossbach and brother-in-law Franklin Rossbach, brother-in-law Kenneth Brady. Grandchildren Jacob (Jen) Gelineau, Corey Gelineau, Hannah and Reid Allison, and great-grandchildren Wyatt, Adalynn, and Garrett Gelineau. Joan is also survived by her Aunt Alma Clouston (age 103) and many nieces and nephews.

Joan was preceded in death by her beloved husband Donald Brady, her parents Bertha and John Leadbetter, and her sisters Marguerite Van Gasken, Lois Hughes, and Mary Leadbetter.

Joan was working at her Mom and Dad's hamburger stand in Burlington and a handsome service man came off the bus (Don Brady) to use the phone.  Mom told her sister Janis that she would marry that man some day and that's the way it was....

Services will be held at Salem Lutheran Church in Mount Vernon on April 18, 2024, at 2:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Kitsap Hospice Program Kaiser Permanente Washington or Salem Lutheran Church Youth Program.
