On May 11, 2025 John Martinez Velasquez went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

John was born on May 4, 1943 in Yakima, Washington to Antonio and Otilia (Martinez) Velasquez. He spent his growing years in Yakima surrounded by a large and loving family. He graduated from West Valley High School.

After graduation, John joined the army and was stationed at NATO in Paris, France for two years.

He worked at Boeing Aircraft for a short time and then moved to Mount Vernon, Washington to work at the Shell Oil Refinery for 28 years.

During this time John married Katie VonMoos and they had two sons Michael and Joseph.

In 1998 John married Judy Ledeboer and they had 26 years of marriage filled with many adventures and much happiness.

John enjoyed golfing, traveling, visiting family and long leisurely car rides.

John is survived by his wife Judy; sons Mike (Debbie) of Seattle and Joe (Karrie) of Marysville; grandchildren Olivia, Jordan, and Maya Velasquez and Michael Bernazani; and four siblings; Dan Velasquez, Philip Romero, Josephine Velasquez, and Anne Foster.

Funeral services will be on Thursday, May 29 at 11:00 at the Yakima Foursquare Church in Yakima, Wa on 40th Ave.
