Joy Louise Rodriguez, 84, from Ferndale, WA, was born on April 14, 1938, to David and Olade Esther Carlson. She passed away peacefully on September 23, 2022, at home surrounded by her family.

Joy is survived by her husband Benjamin Rodriguez, her wonderful children Dean (Teresa) Rodriguez, Debbie (Ray) Garcia, Vicky Rodriguez, Ronaldo Rodriguez, Eugene (Tonya) Rodriguez, Kelly Rodriguez, and Julia Rodriguez. She was the proud grandmother to 25 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild.

Joy was known for her beautiful smile, kindness to other, contagious laugh, and unconditional love through her family and friends. She loved spending time with her husband, children, and grandchildren, and enjoyed sewing, cooking, and gardening. When she wasn't spending time with her family, you could find her in her favorite chair watching Law and Order while working on a crossword puzzle.

Joy would light up any room she was in. She was always first to ask how you were doing, and the first to give a big hug to make you feel warm and welcomed. She will be deeply missed, but her love will carry on forever in our hearts.

A Graveside Service will be held at Burlington Green Hills Cemetery on Monday, October 3, 2022, at 11:00 AM.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Samish Island Community Center, 11292 Blue Heron Road, Bow, WA, on Saturday, October 8, 2022, at 11:00 AM.
