Judy M. Rich, 71, of Mount Vernon, died peacefully at home on May 11th. She was born in Seattle on August 11, 1943 to Ken and Miriam Harris and lived in and around Seattle before moving to Mount Vernon in 1965 with her husband, Robert E. Rich. Judy worked in the Mount Vernon Public Schools Administration office for 29 years. She went above and beyond to meet the payroll needs of all district employees. She was involved in many community organizations. Judy, "little Jood", was a mother to many. Her door was always open and she was happiest when her house was full of family and friends. Judy will be remembered for her perfect hair, generous heart, listening ear and the hand-written birthday and anniversary cards received by so many. Her greatest joys in life were her children and becoming a grandma to Logan. Judy is survived by her children, Brian Rich (Suzie), Anne Cossairt (Mike), and grandson Logan Cossairt, all of Mount Vernon; sister Gail Blanton (Guy) of Bonneau, SC; brother Jay Harris (Fran) of Mesa, AZ; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. She will be greatly missed by all. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, May 16, 2015, 11:00 am at Bethany Covenant Church, 1318 S 18th St. Mount Vernon, with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in Judy's memory to the Skagit Regional Cancer Care Center, 307 S 13th St, Mount Vernon, WA 98274; Seattle Children's Hospital, 4800 Sand Point Way NE, Seattle, WA 98105; or a charity of your choice.
