Kathleen Ann Huttenstine died peacefully in her home on Samish Island on December 10, 2008 after a courageous battle with lung cancer. A dedicated and caring wife and mother to her husband Doug and son Brady, she was loved so much. Kathy was born on December 21, 1954 at West Point, New York and her early life evolved around her military family. In the spring of 1983 she moved to Washington where she came to share a life with Doug and in 1985 they married at St. Charles in Burlington. Kathy was the daughter of Virgil, who predeceased her, and Theresa Smith. She is also survived by her sisters, Susan and Cyndi and her brothers Mark and Brian. In addition, she had numerous nephews and nieces, who like her in her young life, are living all over our wonderful country. She will be remembered for her humor, wit, love of cooking, music, gardening, painting, deocorating and most of all how she could put a smile on everyone's face. She summarized her life about living on Samish Island as "I do have my peace of heaven right here." She will be truly missed so much by so many. A Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday December 16, 2008, 11:00 am at St. Charles Catholic Church 935 Peterson Rd. in Burlington. A Committal Service will follow at Mt. Carmel Catholic Cemetery on Forbes Rd. in Snohomish.
