Kathy Rose D'Amico

Kathy Rose D’Amico, 64, of Anacortes Washington, went to be with the lord on August 15, 2026, at her home, in the arms of her beloved husband, Mike.

Kathy shared a beautiful and enduring love with her husband, Mike. They were married on January 22, 1983, and spent more than 43 years side by side, building a life and family filled with love and memories. Mike loved Kathy deeply and remained by her side through every chapter of their life. Their love was truly a lifelong promise, and the bond they shared will remain forever in the hearts of all who knew them.

Kathy was born on January 14, 1962, in Tacoma, Washington, to Judy and Bud Betzler. She graduated with honors from Burlington-Edison High School in 1980.

Kathy was a woman of incredible strength, love, and resilience. For 15 months, she fought a courageous battle with cancer. Through every difficult moment, she continued to show the strength that defined her. She fought hard, she fought bravely, and she never stopped loving the people who meant the most to her.

Family was Kathy’s greatest joy. She cherished every moment spent with her husband, children, and grandchildren. She is survived by her loving husband of 43 years, Mike D’Amico; her daughter, Christina Huffman (TJ Huffman); her son, Travis D’Amico (Brandy Mogan and her children Aaliyah and Alex Magana); and her grandchildren, Hailey Huffman and Brody Huffman. She is also survived by her sister, Robin Lane (Ken Lane).

Kathy was happiest in the simple moments that made life special. She loved spending time with her family, wandering through Hobby Lobby, and spending countless hours in her kitchen cooking and baking. Her love of baking became such a cherished part of who she was that her grandchildren lovingly called her “Grandma Cookie.” She loved watching cooking shows, and there was nothing quite like being in her kitchen, surrounded by the people she loved.

Kathy also had a wonderfully curious and adventurous side. She loved Bigfoot, anything paranormal, and all the mysteries of the unknown. She enjoyed camping in Eastern Washington and fishing in the Puget Sound. These little things that brought her joy will forever be part of the memories her family carries with them.

Kathy was preceded in death by her parents, Judy and Bud Betzler, and her brothers, Michael Betzler and Ricky Betzler.

Though her time on earth was far too short, Kathy left behind a lifetime of love, memories, laughter, recipes, and traditions that will live on through the family she adored. Her family will always remember the strength with which she fought, and everyone who loved her will carry a piece of her with them.

Kathy’s greatest legacy was the love she gave her family. She was deeply loved, fiercely cherished, and will be missed more than words can ever express.
