Kenneth R. Anderson, 81, passed away peacefully on November 12, 2023 at St. Joseph Medical Center.

A longtime resident of Mount Vernon, he was born to Harry and Shirley Anderson, on May 27, 1942. Ken graduated from Mount Vernon High School (Class of '60) and proceeded to attend Skagit Valley College.

In 1963, Ken married Connie J. Galbreath and went on to have two daughters, Karen and Sally. Their fondest memories as a family were the days they spent boating and sport fishing. In the early '80's Ken was the Commodore for the Swinomish Yacht Club. Ken and Connie recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary with family in September.

Ken spent 44 dedicated years at the McLean Road Fire Station as an active Firefighter and as a Commissioner (1967-2012).

He enjoyed camping and was an active member of the McKenzie Trailer club. Ken and Connie traveled many miles seeking adventure and creating lifelong friendships.

Ken loved woodworking and spent countless hours creating beautiful handmade treasures.

He was adored by many dear friends, neighbors, and his family that will all miss him dearly. Rest in Peace Papa Ken.

Ken is survived by his wife Connie Anderson and his daughters Karen Agen (Dan) and Sally Johnson (Gordon); his four grandchildren, Andy Agen, Emily Agen, Shayla McAlister (Casey) and Jasper Johnson (Tori); and his six beloved great grandchildren, Kiara, Jackson, Waylon, Saraya, Rilynn, and Raedyn. He is survived by brothers Jerry (Dee) and Rick (Patti) Anderson.

A celebration of life will be held at the McLean Road Fire Station on December 2nd at 2pm. Coffee and desserts will follow a few short words.
