Kenneth John Weimer, 63, passed away peacefully at home on August 26, 2019 with his wife and daughter at his side. Ken was born on December 29, 1955 in Justice, IL. In 1977 he moved to Portland, OR and met the love of his life Michelle Sasek. The two were married on July 3, 1982 in Anchorage, AK. They had one daughter together, Tiffany, who was born in 1983.
Ken went to work at Laidlaw Transit as a mechanic and soon worked his way up to become shop manager in Anchorage, AK. In 1983 Ken had a chance to open a new shop and transferred his job to Tacoma, WA. In 1984 Ken was asked to help manage the fleet of Laidlaw buses for the Olympic Games in Los Angeles, CA. The following 10 years Ken worked as the shop maintenance manager in Seattle, WA, Santa Rosa, CA, and Livermore, CA. In 2003 he was hired as assistant maintenance manager for Community Transit in Everett and remained there until 2019.
Ken truly loved his family, taking them on family trips often. Ken also loved the outdoors whether it was camping, fishing, hunting, crabbing, or gardening he always stayed busy. Ken was overjoyed the day he found out he was going to be a papa to his granddaughter Peyton!
Ken is survived by his wife Michelle; daughter Tiffany (Patrick) Beisler; 3 grandchildren Peyton, Carter, and Kian. He is also survived by sister Sandra; brothers Jeff, Randy and David as well as many nieces and nephews.
Ken is preceded in death by his parents Charles and Virginia Weimer and his brothers Charles Jr. and Steve.
A time of viewing and a reception will be held at Hawthorne Funeral Home in Mount Vernon on Friday, August 30, 2019 from 2:00pm to 5:00pm.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the American Cancer Society or Hospice of the Northwest.
Ken's family would always say "WWKD" (what would Ken do) because he always had a way of doing everything perfectly! He will be dearly missed by everyone who knew and loved him!
