Obituary

On New Year's Day, 2022 Len Robert Nelson passed away peacefully at Skagit Valley Hospital. Len was born on September 16th, 1960 in Seattle, WA to Lewroe Nelson and Larita (Fengler) Nelson. An avid supporter of outdoor and agricultural careers, Len was proud to have worked for local farmers early on and spent a few years living in Eastern Washington as a self-made survivalist. There he met one of his best friends, a wolf-cross pup named Shantee that he raised and kept by him for 18 years. Len was extremely knowledgeable and had many hobbies and interests including firearms, food preservation, Biblical research and science in general. He loved Rock N' Roll, spending time with his lifelong friends and had a strong interest in politics. Unapologetic in his beliefs that some things are better off natural, he prided himself in a beard he did not shave once in his life, and loved it when hushed voices of children were heard asking their mothers if he was Santa Claus. Len was preceded in death by his Mother, Larita, and his Father, Lewroe. He is survived by his daughter Arienne Spickard, his grandson Artorian Spickard, and two cousins, Claire Case and Wendy Barny. In light of the Covid-19 Pandemic no Memorial Service will be held; however, he will be laid to rest at Evergreen Washelli Cemetery (Section 20) and all are welcome to pay their respects at their convenience. In lieu of cutting flowers or giving gifts, please consider a donation in Len's name to the World Wildlife Fund.
