Obituary

Linda Ann Ballenger, 66, passed away unexpectedly on December 23, 2021, in Mount Vernon, WA.   Linda was born on November 21, 1955, in Seattle, WA. to Gene and Marlene Lucas. Linda grew up in Ballard, graduating from Ballard High School in 1974. After high school, she worked for Civil service/Coast Guard until her first child was born. Linda married Roger Ballenger in 1977 and had their first son in 1978 followed by a daughter and another son. They moved to Mount Vernon in 1983. She lived her dream of becoming a stay at home mom to her 3 children. She was a very dedicated, loving and involved mother. As her children grew, she returned to work. Eventually retiring after working at the hospital for many years. Once retired, Linda spent much of her time with her grandchildren and family any chance she had.

Linda was a born caretaker of any and all who needed. She would take anyone in that needed it and did on many occasions.

Linda had many hobbies and interests. She was amazing at quilting, sewing, crocheting, crafting of any kind, cooking and baking. Most of all she loved spending time with family, especially her grandkids.

While raising kids she was a den leader for Cub Scouts/ Boy Scouts, and Girl scouts/ Brownies. She was also a chaperone for any event needed.

Linda was preceded in death by her mom Marlene, husband Roger, stepmom Miriam, aunt Lori, brother in-laws Randy and Scott Ballenger and nephew Andrew Ballenger.

Linda is survived by her 3 children Josh Ballenger, Rhiannin Burton and Mat Ballenger, her father Gene Lucas, sister Bernice Lucas, brother (and sister-in-law) Bob and Bonny Lucas, mother-in-law Bonnie Ballenger, sisters in law Shannon, Shelly, Desiree and brother in laws Steve and Darren Ballenger as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins and her 8 grandchildren; Dillon, Charlie, Annalee Ballenger, Malaki and Makenna Ballenger and Kameryn, Kaiden and Kaylee Ann Burton. Last but not least, she leaves behind her sidekick dog, Ramzee.

A Celebration of life will be held Saturday, March 5, 2022, at Hawthorne Funeral Home, Mount Vernon in the reception room from 1:00pm to 4:00pm. Open to all at any time between 1:00pm and 4:00pm to share memories and stories of Linda.

In lieu of flowers, donations toward funeral costs are accepted.
