IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Linda Joy
Stromer
May 25, 2022
It is with great sadness we announce that Linda Joy Stromer passed away suddenly on May 25th, 2022, at the young age of 66. Linda was born March 21,1956 in San Diego, CA to Vernon and Dorothy (White) Vidmore where Vernon served in the U.S. Navy. Soon after, her family moved to Mount Vernon, WA where Linda attended Mount Vernon schools, graduating from MVHS in 1974. Linda had a wonderful childhood growing up with her siblings, going on various camping and boating adventures with her dad out to the San Juan Islands.
Linda and Dan Lefeber were married in 1974 and started a family in the valley with the arrival of Steve (1976) and Michelle (1978). Linda worked at Washington Elementary School as an instructional assistant until 1990 where she moved to LaVenture Middle School to be secretary. She then moved to Lincoln Elementary School and remained secretary until her retirement in 2018. Linda's time at Lincoln was truly a major influence in her life. There she made so many great friends. She gave selflessly when it came to her students, staff members, and parents.
Linda and Scott married in 1994 and together they created their "staycation" home near Mount Vernon. Linda cherished spending time with her kids and grandkids. Linda was caring, endlessly kindhearted, loving, loyal, honest, clever, a jokester, and was a persistent advocate for causes and people she cared about.
Linda's many loves included: her kids and grandchildren, gardening, going to garage sales, her two pygmy goats (Ginger and Gracie), the many cats she "collected" over the years, pink and purple, anything with heart shapes, squirrels, romantic comedies, saving or caring for any kind of injured or homeless animal, bringing baby animals for students to learn about at Lincoln Elementary, her Lincoln family of students and staff, Pinterest, snowfall, sunsets, the Mariners, country drives, finding the perfect second-hand deal, woodworking projects, her greenhouse, rusty metal art, going on walks, volunteering, her group of loyal high school friends that met throughout the last 45 years, and her group of "Lincoln Retirees" that met regularly over the past 4 years. Linda and Scott retired together in 2018. The last 3 years they volunteered transporting injured or stranded wildlife to Wolf Hollow Wildlife Rehabilitation Center on San Juan Island. She absolutely loved helping animals and enjoyed the human connections she made as a result. She enhanced and enriched the lives of every living thing she came into contact with.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Vernon and Dorothy Vidmore and parents-in-law Mel and Pat Stromer. She is survived by her best friend and husband, Scott Stromer, of Mount Vernon WA, daughter Michelle (Patrick) Neason of Lake Stevens, WA, son Steve (Jenn) Lefeber of El Paso, TX, and grandchildren Kaliah, Gavin, Shiraz (Rengiil), Vahid, and Gwen, sister Nancy (Cal) Wiechman of Pilger, NE, brother Vernon (Chere) Vidmore of Mount Vernon, WA, sister Sandy (Nick) Cecotti of Mount Vernon, WA, brother David (Laureen) Vidmore of California, brother-in-law Tim (Susie) Stromer of Bellingham, WA, and numerous nieces and nephews.
