IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Lois Beatrice
White
October 5, 1927 – January 26, 2024
Lois White was welcomed into the gentle arms of the Lord Jesus Christ on Friday, January 26, 2024 at the Skagit Valley Hospital in Mount Vernon, Washington.
Lois' life of 96 years blessed and encouraged numerous friends and family members through her exemplary witness and intercessory prayers.
Her life's journey began on October 5, 1927 in the homestead house of grandfather August and grandmother Barbara Aanderud who had immigrated from Norway and settled in Maddock, North Dakota. Lois's proud parents were Richard and Myrtle Aanderud.
Lois was the eldest of five siblings, Mayo Aanderud (deceased), Mary Kinder (deceased), Dee Shutes, and Darlene Aanderud whom she conscientiously cared for like their second mother.
Lois completed eight years of grammar school in Hamburg, North Dakota before the family moved to Everett, Washington in 1942 where she attended North Junior High School and graduated from Everett High School in 1946.
Lois married William N. White, Jr., the love of her life, on June 19, 1946, at her parents' home in Everett. The couple relocated to Mount Vernon, Washington, and in 1950 they moved to Burlington, Washington and purchased land from William Boeing for the location of their two initial homes. While living in Burlington from 1950 to 2009, two adored daughters, Valerie and Trudy, were born. After the move from Burlington to Salem Village in 2009, Bill passed in 2011. Lois continued to make Salem Village her home until 2024.
Lois was dedicated to impeccable homemaking when not assisting with the rigorous family berry farming business. Progressing into their retirement years, Lois and Bill enjoyed touring to the east coast, Arizona, and Hawaii with the Skagit Valley farmers' group and cruising in the Caribbean.
During her adolescent years in North Dakota, Lois was confirmed in the Viking Lutheran Church. After marriage, she and Bill attended the Avon Methodist Church and later moved to the Viewcrest Assembly of God Church in Mount Vernon where she was passionately involved in Sunday School class teaching, prayer groups, social event planning, elders' wives' duties, and ministering wherever needed. Foremost of all, she was a warrior when it came to touching the heart of God in her prayer ministry.
Gifts in memory of Lois may be given to the Samaritan's Purse ministry of Franklin Graham.
A celebration of life service will be held at the Salem Lutheran Church, 2529 N. Laventure Rd., Mount Vernon, Washington, on Saturday, March 9, 2024, at 12:00pm.
