Laurie was born in Everett, Washington to Victor and Ada Mae (Deets) Garber. Her oldest sibling, Victor B. was lost to SIDS. Her brothers Kenneth and Howard were her champions all of their lives. The family moved to Burien, WA, where she graduated from Highline High School in 1957. She was working for the Boeing Seattle Plant when she took her '62 T-Bird and a coupon to Bob's 5 Corners Shell and met the love of her life, Robert A. (Bob). They married on November 22, 1963 and she became the mother of three children: Marilyn (Lyn), Robert M. (Rob) and Gloria (Little Lori). They moved to Burlington in 1973 where they opened their NAPA Store. They were married just shy of 50 years when Bob passed in 2013.  Mom was very proud to be a charter member of the Burlington Soroptimists. Laurie passed peacefully in the outstanding care of Creekside Assisted Living and Northwest Hospice.

Laurie was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, husband Bob, son Rob and nine Norwegian Elkhound fur-babies. Continuing without her are daughters Lyn and Lori, both of Mount Vernon. Grandchildren: Clarence Kyle of Concrete, Melissa (Mike) Sims of Roy, Aron (Alena Marshak) of Seattle, Rachael (Pat) Havel of Lopez Island and Greats: Courtney and Eli Kyle, Preston and Carmen Sims, Alex Havel, and Yuri and Remi Marshak-Schneider.

There will be a Celebration of Life at 1:00PM Friday, February 17, 2023 at Hawthorne Funeral Home, Mount Vernon, WA with a reception to follow. Private internment will be at Greenhills Memorial Cemetery in Burlington.
