Lorraine Violet Snyder, 96, of Mount Vernon passed away peacefully on July 22, 2016 in Burlington , WA . She was born in Mina , SD on December 06, 1919. Lorraine studied to become a school teacher and taught in a one room schoolhouse until she followed her sister, Lenore Richard to Los Angeles , CA . While in L.A. she worked for Lockheed Martin and met and married the love of her life Edward "Ted" Snyder. The marriage produced 3 children, Ed Charles Snyder of Mount Vernon , Paula Snyder of Auburn , and Colleen Fleck of Oak Harbor .
Lorraine enjoyed many activities such as painting and loved to travel. She visited many places such as Fiji , China , Hawaii , Alaska , Australia , New Zealand , and Israel . Both she and Ted were active Republicans working for several elections in grass roots committees as Precinct Representatives and State Delegates. Together they worked to bring the Trinity Broadcasting Network to Washington State in the 1970's. Lorraine belonged to His Place Church in Burlington . She was a part of as many Christian Organizations as possible. She loved being able to encourage, teach, and support others in the Lord and never tired of talking about Jesus.
She was preceded in death by her husband Edward Snyder, her parents, 2 brothers Allen and Valere (Tony) Crady and 3 sisters Lenore Richmond, Carole Hathaway and Virginia Crady who passed away as a baby. She is survived by 2 sisters, Elaine Olson and Delores Bruse. She is also survived by daughters Paula Snyder and Colleen (Larry) Fleck, son Ed Snyder and grandchildren Krista (Clint) Kays, Craig (Jessica) Snyder, Brooke (Robert) Wakefield, Dane (Corinne) Summers, Alena (Michael) Miles, Tamar (Jim) Wilson, and Ella and Nora Ledesma as well as many great grandchildren.
