Lorrie Lavern (Becker) Chance, 92, of Sedro-Woolley passed on May 6, 2026 after a long battle with Demetia. Born on October 31, 1934 to Walter & Vera (Johnson) Becker in Bellingham, WA. She grew up in Burlington attending Burlington-Edison schools.
Lorrie met John Chance in San Diego, CA where he was stationed in the Navy. They were married in Yuma, AZ on March 8th, 1953.
She worked at Northern State Hospital from the mid-1960s until its closure and while working there earned her LPN nursing license. This was during the time all 5 of her children were under the age of 12. Later she worked at National Frozen Foods until retirement. She also managed the bookkeeping for the family business, Chance’s Transmission.
Lorrie’s favorite hobbies included reading, genealogy & quilting. Many beautiful quilts were made and given to family & friends.
She is survived by her children, Linda Dawson, Richard (Patty), Micheal (Deb), Don (Grace) Chance, daughter-in-law Shirley Chance. Grandchildren Shannon & Justin Trammell, Derek Dawson, Eric & Cheryl Chance, Tyrone Solomon, Michelle Jordan, Aaron Chance, Donald Jon & Teresia Chance & Shantel Chance. Along with many great & great-great grandchildren.
Predeceased by her husband, John (2003), son, Tony (2016), older sister, Charlotte LaLonde and younger brother Glen Becker Sr.
She will always be remembered for her constant smile along with her easy-going & loving nature.
A private family memorial will be held at a later date.
