Margaret "Maggie" (Gordon) Schreifels of Burlington, WA passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 22, 2021 at age 84.

Maggie was born in Birch Hills, Saskatchewan on December 31, 1936, to Margaret and Daniel Gordon. She was the youngest of five children. She graduated from Saskatoon City Hospital School of Nursing in January 1960. In June of 1961 she married Bud Schreifels. They began their life together in Red Deer, Alberta, moved to Santa Maria, California for two and a half years and settled in Skagit County in 1967 where they raised their four children. In addition to raising her family, Maggie sold Fuller Brush door-to-door where she created loyal customers and made many lasting friendships.

Maggie is survived by her loving family: son, Barry (Céline) Schreifels of Newbury Park, CA; daughters, Sandy (Doug) Thomas of Lynden, WA, Heidi Schreifels of Spokane, WA and Lisa Schreifels of West Hollywood, CA; grandchildren, Lauren Thomas, Henri and Céleste

Schreifels.

She was a loving wife, mother and grandma. She is remembered by her friends and family as a kind, thoughtful, warm, loving friend who would do anything for anyone. Her greatest joys in life were her children, grandchildren and her close friends whom she considered family. Although she lived far from her extended family, classmates and childhood friends, they were always near and dear to her heart.

Maggie loved animals and spent many years volunteering with the local horse 4-H and Pony Club organizations. Later in life, her little dog Gia provided her with endless hours of entertainment and comfort. She cheered for the Mariners, Seahawks and the WSU Cougars.

She had many talents and enjoyed sharing them with her friends and family; baking, gardening, knitting, sewing and painting. She loved celebrating all of the holidays and passing her family traditions on to the next generation. One of her favorite Christmas traditions was making gingerbread cabins. She shared fond memories of her childhood often, and admired her children and grandchildren's adventurous spirits. She was very proud of their accomplishments and the people they became.

She will be dearly missed.
