Marjorie Ellen Laws (née Nelson), 86, of Shelter Bay, WA, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on August 20, 2026, after a courageous journey with Alzheimer’s and dementia. Born on April 1, 1940, in Spokane, WA, Marjorie lived a life defined by love, faith, and notable professional achievement.
Marjorie attended King's High School in Shoreline, WA, and maintained a strong Christian faith throughout her life, most recently attending the United Methodist Church in La Conner, WA.
Professionally, Marjorie had a distinguished career as the Vice President of Corporate Affairs for Alaska Airlines, proudly earning her place as the first female officer in the company's history. Above all, she was a devoted and caring wife, mother, and grandmother.
Marjorie is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Fred Laws; her daughters, Lisa Moe, Treva Campbell and Traci McLeod; her siblings, Sharon Moody and Stephen Nelson; cherished grandchildren, Joshua, Bryan, Chelsea, Taylor, Emily, Daniel, Scott, Amanda and Chase, as well as many beloved great and great-great grandchildren, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Margaret Nelson; her brother, David Nelson; her nephew, David Nelson Jr.; and her eldest daughter, Kirsten McCurtain.
