Martin Lenard Dunn, 86, passed into the hands of Jesus on Wednesday, May 13, 2020 at his home in Mount Vernon, Washington after a long-fought battle with Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma. "Marty" (or Buster to his Family) was born on December 18, 1933 to Martin and Eva Nell (Brown) Dunn in McComb, Mississippi, he was the 2nd of 6 children.
After graduating from High School he joined the Airforce where he served for 4 years as a Gunner and Radio Operator during the Korean War. While in the Airforce, he was a crewmember on the first non-stop flight between the continental United States and the island of Guam. After leaving the Airforce, he joined the Social Security Administration where he worked for over 30 years. He had a unwavering faith in God, a strong love for his family, and an amazing passion for the game of Golf. He loved old Western Movies and could talk politics with anyone.
He is survived by his loving wife, Ruth of Anaconda, Montana, they would have celebrated their 65 th wedding anniversary in July of this year. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are three children; Mary Ellen (Jeff) Lincicum of Graham; Martin (Amber) Dunn of Mount Vernon; Mark (Rhonda) Dunn of Bolingbrook, IL; 5 grandchildren; Marissa Budge, Justin Lincicum, Carley Dunn, Kyle Dunn and Marc Dunn; 5 great-grandchildren; Riley Budge, Logan Budge, Anna Budge, Matthias Budge and Linc Lincicum; 2 siblings Thomas Dunn of Baton Rouge, LA and Douglas Dunn of Richland; and many other loving nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Marty was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Bobbie Freeman and Mavis Smith and one brother, Ray Dunn.
A celebration of life will be held later this summer.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Martin's name to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society or Mount Vernon Presbyterian Church.
