Obituary

Mary Ann was born January 29, 1945 in Everett, WA to Richard and Violet (Wetzel) Hansen. She passed away September 28, 2023 in Arlington WA, with her husband Joe by her side.

Mary Ann graduated from Marysville High School in 1963 with academic honors.  She was married to Joe Biringer in 1964, they have two children Melissa and Joe Jr.   After High school Mary Ann went to work at G T E (General Telephone) in the accounting department. Later she helped move B C Tel to Everett, WA that became Alaska Tel and she worked there for another nine years.

In 1975, Mary Ann and Joe started a wholesale nursery called Biringer Nursery, LLC.  Joe and Mary Ann worked side by side for the next 25 years. The nursery is still flourishing today. In 1990, they moved to Mount Vernon, and restored an old farm house.  Then in 1999 they moved to Camano Island in the beautiful dream house that she designed.

Mary Ann enjoyed many activities such as hiking, biking, pheasant hunting, and walking on the beach in front of their home collecting beach glass.  Mary Ann was also an active member at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, in La Conner, WA.  In the early 1980's Mary Ann found her favorite hobby, antiquing and junking. Mary Ann was always on the hunt for that perfect treasure. Mary Ann traveled multiple places in the U. S. and several trips to Europe, looking for antiques. Mary Ann opened her own shop called Heartstrings this was located at their home in Marysville, this is where she met great people that became lifelong friends. Mary Ann was loved by all.  Mary Ann loved going to Lake Chelan, WA.  We spent great family times together there, so much so, the family built a home there.

Mary Ann is survived by her husband: Joe, daughter: Melissa Biringer, son: Joe jr. (Kate) Biringer; grandchildren: Mathew Walker, Megan (Zack) Collins, Nicole (Cory) Samuelson, Jacob Fought,  Hanna Biringer, and two great granddaughters: Chloe Ann and Sadie Ann.

She was preceded in death by her parents Richard and Violet Hansen, and her three brothers Dick, Don, and Dan Hansen.

A Rosary will be said Monday October 9, 2023, 11:40 a.m. followed by the Funeral Mass, 12:15 p.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Mount Vernon, a graveside service will follow at Hawthorne Memorial Park, then a reception in The Vine at Bertelson Winery.
