Born to Henry C. and Nora (Phillips) Hill in Ucon, Idaho, Luana was the eldest of five children. She grew up on the family farm and attended Ricks College in Rexburg, Idaho. Luana married Ron (R.K.) McFadden May 23, 1942 in Idaho Falls, Idaho. She lived in Ucon until Ron was discharged from the Navy in 1945 when the couple moved to Skagit County. She and Ron raised their family at Big Lake and have since lived in Burlington and Walker Valley while spending winters in Arizona. The past three years she and Ron have lived in an assisted living facility in Vancouver, WA. She is survived by her sons Lynn (Jane), Bill (Ginny), and daughters Merris Standley (Warren) and Kerry McFadden, brothers Clyde (Doris) and Weston (Wilma) and sister Carol Meppen (Ken), 8 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents and sister, Janet Wray. A Funeral Service will be held Saturday January 30, 2010, 10:30am at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints , 1700 Hazel St. in Mount Vernon. A Graveside Service will follow at Hawthorne Memorial Park, 1825 E College Way in Mount Vernon. Following the Graveside a reception will be held back at the Church.
