Maureen "Moe" Lucille Steiner, Age 41 a resident of Whatcom County one of God's special children went home August 05, 2007 in Mount Vernon. She was born March 16, 1966 in Mount Vernon to Richard and Darlene Steiner. She liked babies, walking dogs, riding the bus, listening to music, playing her guitar, dancing, family gatherings, presents and "hamburgs". She won a gold medal for broom sweep in the Special Olympics. She taught people about life! She attended Wonderland Pre School for handicapped children in Seattle a school started by her parents. She also attended Greenlake Elementary in Seattle, Evergreen Elementary in Sedro Woolley and graduated from Ferndale High School in 1987. She worked for Chinook Enterprise in Mount Vernon and the Humane Society of Whatcom County. She was preceded in death by her dad Richard; grandparents Warren and Lucille Avery, Martin and Elizabeth Steiner and her Uncle David Steiner. She is survived by her Mother and Step Father Darlene and John St. John; 3 sisters Cathy Steiner, Barb (Sam) Thomas and Sara (Mike) Williams; 2 brothers Rick (Kay) Steiner and Pat (Tammi) Steiner; Nieces and Nephews Cassandra, Stephanie, Katie, Rob, Kyle, Jeremy, Jake, Shawn, Quinn, Phillip, Samuel, Natalie, Whitney and Jayla; Numerous Aunts Uncles and Cousins. A Special thanks to her Rehabco family. A Celebration of Life will be held Friday August 10, 2007, 6:00pm at the St Joseph Center on 15th St. in Mount Vernon. The family requests all to wear bright colors and bring your memories of Maureen to share.
