Michael Paul "Mike" Nelson

Mike was born April 8, 1971 to Victoria Lind and Randall Nelson in Denver, Colorado. He passed away March 13, 2024 in Galveston, Texas
Mike graduated from Chatfield high school in Littleton Colorado class of 1989. He moved to Washington state in 1991 and attended Skagit Valley Community College where he played soccer for two years, the team went on to win the state championship. He attended Western Washington University after that where he also played soccer.  He graduated in 1994 with a bachelor's degree in graphic design and a minor in art history.
In March 1994 he married Jennifer Mershon and together they had two children; son: Thomas in 1997 and four years later in 2001; their daughter: Jillian.  He worked in the wine industry for over 20 years, staying with the same company as they merged several times to what ultimately became Columbia distributing.
He married Amy Hobbs on October 1, 2020. They moved to Galveston, Texas in 2022.
Mike is survived by his children: Thomas and Jillian Nelson; wife: Amy Hobbs; mother: Victoria Lind- Steere; father: Randall Nelson; and multiple cousins, aunts and uncles.
An open house reception will be held Thursday, May 30, 2024, 4:00 PM- 7:00 PM in the Hawthorne Reception Room.
