Michael Perry Tausher, 62, of Shoreline, Washington, passed away on November 23, 2017 at Virginia Mason Medical Center in Seattle, Washington with Karen, his wife of 13 years, at his side.  

  Mike was born on July 13, 1955 in Mount Vernon, Washington to Wilma and Jim Tausher, and became a loving older brother to Lori and Patti.  Mike graduated from Mount Vernon High School (MVHS) in 1973 and set out to make his mark.  He loved building and architecture, showing his aptitude in his early years by winning a contest to design the concession stand at MVHS.  

  Attending Central Washington after high school, he only stayed a year before coming back to Mount Vernon.   Mike started his career at Axthelm & Swett in Mount Vernon and most recently enjoyed working as a Senior Associate for MG2 Architecture in Seattle.  

  On September 5, 2004, Mike was joined in marriage to Karen, and became father to Franklin, Levi, Robyn, and Atayveon (Tayve).   His heart was touched by stories of children in the foster system, and he felt he had a lot to give.   Mike and Karen have also hosted several foster children in their home over the years.  

  Mike was a kind, loving, godly man who made a difference in the lives of all who knew him.  He will be deeply missed by his surviving mother, sisters, wife, children, nieces, nephews, and in-laws.  

  A Graveside Service will be held Saturday, December 2, 2017, 11:00am at Hawthorne Memorial Park followed by a reception at Trinity Lutheran Church in Mount Vernon.  A Memorial Service will be held at 4:00pm later that day at the United Evangelical Free Church in Seattle.
