Obituary

Natalie was born June 1, 1967, in Fullerton, CA to Rollie and Terri McHughes; she passed away suddenly at her home in Tulalip on August 5, 2022.

The family moved from Reno, NV in 78…her school days and young adult life were spent in Las Vegas. It was also there she married Buddy Manwill and they welcomed their first-born Shawna. Shortly after the birth of her second child, Robert, she relocated to Washington state which she would forever call home. She continued building a beautiful life welcoming her third blessing, Nathan James and settling into her role as a mother. She balanced motherhood with her love of the outdoors, camping, exploring, of course kids, family, and friends always in tow. Natalie was passionate about her family and friends, being of Hispanic decent, she didn't know how to do anything small, especially cooking. Her talents were many, but some that stood out were writing (poetry, thoughts, things of meaning), her knowledge of stones/crystals, cooking (she could turn nothing into a gourmet meal), and pet whispering (her pets loved her and were capable of phenomenal things with a little of her training. She is nice taught her cat to use the toilet). She loved hard and her love went deep, if she latched onto you, she was loyal and connected to you for life. Her family was number one, ESPECIALLY her grandsons, they were her whole world, and she was never more alive than when she was with them. She loved Mother Nature and was passionate about its preservation (her mom called her the family's original environmentalist), she yearned for travel (was able to visit the Cayman Islands, Germany, and Ireland a dream of hers come true), Christmas and Halloween were highly celebrated in her home (when the time came she would crack the whip on Chet and have him making sure their house was the most decorated). She was pure, always spoke her mind, and never gave up on anyone…often pushing the ones she loved to achieve their potentials and then some. While she hated photos, her smile was stunning and her beauty captivating…. her mark has been forever made upon the hearts of many…she will be missed.

Natalie is survived by her husband (Chet Goodrow), three children (Shawna Manwill, Robert Schmidt, and Nathan Schmidt), two grandchildren (Luke Manwill, Jayden Zinke) Parents (Terri McHughes-Andersen and Rolland McHughes) Siblings (Brenda McHughes, Rolland McHughes, and Marlene Tardiff) numerous aunts uncles and cousins and of course her beloved pets.
