Neil Thorbjorn Eastvold, 87, passed away on September 19, 2023, surrounded by loved ones.

Neil was born in South Dakota and moved to Seattle with his family at a young age. After graduating from Ballard High School, he attended Pacific Lutheran University where he met the love of his life, Janice. They married and eventually settled down in Kirkland, where they raised their three children. He was passionate about soccer and took great interest in it as his kids were growing up, serving as a coach, referee, and as a leader of the LWYSA. A lover of boats, boating, and all things on the water, Neil treasured time spent with family and friends at his cabin on Lake Cavanaugh. He spent his tenured career working at various cement companies in Seattle, working in sales and also later as an engineer. After retiring, he and Janice spent many summers on their boat, exploring the Puget Sound with friends from the Tyee Yacht Club. Craving sunny weather, they spent winters in Yuma Arizona and found new friends and adventures. Relocating to Mount Vernon in 2007, he found joy in restoring classic cars and you could often find him tinkering in his workshop, working on various projects. Neil's Norwegian ties were strong and his Viking collection will live on! He was a constant champion and rock for his entire family and he will be missed every day.
Neil is survived by his wife of 65 years Janice; his sister Carol (Jon); daughter Lynn (Tim); sons David (Dawn) and Bryan; grandchildren Kelsey, Shelby (Grume), and Tyler; and great-grandchild Ella.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society.

A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, October 22 at 1pm at Hillcrest Lodge in Mount Vernon.
