Obituary

Norma Dream (Port) Henry passed away peacefully in her sleep,  May 4, 2021 at the age of 92, in La Quinta, California.  She was surrounded by her loving husband, Richard A Henry and her children. She was born April 16, 1929 to Horace W & Lora E Port in Seattle, Washington.  Norma grew up on Magnolia and graduated from Queen Ann Highschool in 1947.  She went on to Washington State University and graduated in 1952 with a BA in Education.

Norma taught 1 st grade for over 30 years in Washington state.  She especially loved teaching her young students to read and providing them with a strong foundation she knew they would take with them where ever they went.

Norma lived most of her life in the Pacific Northwest.  She especially enjoyed being near the salt waters of her beloved Puget Sound.  She also had a particular love for Alaska where she enjoyed many summers.  Norma loved bowling, golf and weekly visits to the casino.  She and her husband Dick traveled extensively in their motor home and spent many happy years enjoying the retired life with their friends at Middlefield Estates in Cottage Grove, Oregon.

Norma is survived by her caring husband Richard A Henry and her three children:  Kathy Lynn Hewett of Scottsdale, AZ, James Marshall Head (Cheri) of La Quinta, CA, Diane Lorraine Lluellyn (Russell) of Bandon, OR; and six grandchildren:  Christopher B Hewett (Joanna), Timothy V Hewett (Maria), Scott L Head, James R Head, Jessica N Scarbrough (David) and Kali M Lemon.

A graveside gathering will be held Friday, May 14 at 1:00PM at Bow Cemetery, Bow Washington.   In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the VFW (Veterans of Foreign Wars) heros.vfw.org or Wounded Warrior Project  support.woundedwarriorproject.org
