Obituary

Oliva Bergenholtz, 91, passed away peacefully on July 30, 2017 in Burlington, WA surrounded by family and loved ones. Oliva was born in Greenville, TN on September 19, 1925. She met the love of her life in Philadelphia, Eugene Bergenholtz and the two were married for 69 years until Eugene's passing in 2013.

Oliva had many hobbies including crocheting.  She crocheted over 400 prayer shawls which she donated to the Cancer Care Center and various nursing homes. She loved cooking and baking for her family and made the best carrot cake and banana bars.  Oliva was a longtime member of the Mount Vernon Church of the Nazarene and a former member of the Moses Lake Church of the Nazarene.  She was also a member of the Eastern Star and served as Worthy Matron several times.  Oliva was very proud of her involvement with Jobs Daughters and the Miss Moses Lake Pageants.

She is survived by her daughter Carol (Greg) DiGiovonna; grandson Jeff (Sara) Willard; granddaughter Deena (Wade) Wilhonen; great grandchildren Devin and Kailey Willard and Kjirsi and Chandler Wilhonen. She is also survived by 2 brothers Cordell (Betty) Fletcher and Bueford (Jean) Fletcher; brother in law Carl "Sonny" (Carol) Bergenholtz as well as many nieces and nephews in Tennessee and CarlaRaye Belew who held a special place in her heart.  Oliva is preceded in death by her husband Eugene Bergenholtz; her parents William and Julia Fletcher; sisters, Ellen, Maxine, Christine, and Joyce; brothers, Carroll, Earl, and Charles.

A graveside service will be held at Hawthorne Memorial Park on Wednesday, August 2, 2017 at 11:00am.
