Oliver Louis Kienholz, 91, passed away peacefully on April 15, 2021 in Mount Vernon, WA. with his wife and family by his side.

Oliver was born March 1, 1930 just outside of Moscow, Idaho to Albert and Myrtle Kienholz. When Oliver was 4 years old, his parents along with his brother and sister moved to Pullman, Washington where he grew up on a 160-acre farm. Oliver loved living on the farm. He learned that it was hard work which was not lost on him his entire life. Oliver's mother and father were serious about their Christian lives. His father was involved with FFA and Oliver was right by his side. Oliver graduated from Pullman High School in 1948.

Oliver married Shirley Roberts in 1952 and had 3 children Clayton, Nancy, and Linda. In 1957, they went to live in Puyallup, WA where Oliver worked for WA State Research and Extension Service. In 1971, Oliver moved to Mt. Vernon and work with the Farm Business Management Division of Skagit Valley College, particularly  with the dairy farmers of the area. In 1974, Oliver married Doris Lucille Wills. Oliver retired from teaching at Skagit Valley College in the year 2000. By then he had started his own business Pitchwood Products selling soil supplements. Over the years Oliver made hundreds of friends all over the Northwestern United States. He joined the Gideon's in 1985 and was actively involved for many years. Oliver loved to talk about Jesus. His faith affected every aspect of his life. In 2012 Oliver married Elvia Maria Ochoa and they lived happily together until his death. Oliver died of natural causes.

Oliver is survived by his son Clayton (Denise) Kienholz, daughters Nancy Wilson and Linda (Greg) Wilson. Oliver was predeceased by his grandson David Clayton Kienholz, who had a special place in his heart.

A time of viewing will be held on Thursday, April 22, 2021 from 12:00 to 5:00pm at Hawthorne Funeral Home, Mount Vernon, WA.

A funeral service will be held at Hawthorne Funeral Home, Mount Vernon, WA on Friday April 23, 2021 at 10:00am.

A graveside service will follow at Hawthorne Memorial Park, Mount Vernon, WA.
