Owen Marten De Vries, 60, passed away July 29, 2021 in Chino, California

Owen was born July 23, 1961 to Ray and Alice De Vries in Bellflower, California.

Owen lived his early years in Mount Vernon, WA, where his parents owned a dairy farm.  He later moved to Salem Christian Home for the handicapped in Ontario, CA.  He spent the last years of his life at Salem's La Deney home in Ontario where he was well loved and cared for.

Owen faced many physical hardships during his life, and despite it all he was a cheerful, sweet person.  Overtime, Owen lost the use of language, but till the very end he kept on phrase, "I Pray."

Owen was preceded in death by his father, Ray De Vries in 1974.  He is survived by his mother: Alice, sisters: Hilda (Lee) Bode and Winnie (Steve) Brinks; brothers: Fred (Denelle) De Vries and Robert (Nell) De Vries; along with 12 nieces and nephews.

The family expresses its deep gratitude to the staff at Salem's La Deney Home.  A memorial service was held at the La Deney Home on August 2 ^nd .  A private family graveside service will be held at Hawthorne Memorial Park.

Friends are invited to express their condolences at a reception at Hawthorne Reception Room on Friday, August 13, 2021, 11:30 AM until 1:00 PM.
