Patrick E. Farrell, age 80, of Burlington, passed away peacefully on January 7, 2025.
Pat was born on June 19, 1944, in Mount Vernon, WA. He graduated from Mount Vernon High School and later attended Skagit Valley College.
On September 15, 1965, Pat married the love of his life, Glenda Chase. Together, they shared a beautiful life and raised two wonderful children, Brian and Gina. Pat was a devoted father who enjoyed sharing his passions with his family. He was an avid hunter and a proud member of Pheasants Forever, taking annual trips to Eastern Washington with his son and close friends. Pat's love for fishing was well-known, and he was famous for never coming home empty-handed from his excursions on the local lakes and rivers. He delighted in teaching his children and grandchildren the art of fishing and took great pride in their achievements.
In addition to his love for the outdoors, Pat was a dedicated runner and an active member of the Skagit Runners Club. He participated in several marathons, including the prestigious New York City Marathon in 2003, showcasing his determination and passion for the sport.
Pat spent 27 fulfilling years working at the Skagit Golf and Country Club, where he formed many cherished friendships. His warm smile and kind demeanor endeared him to everyone he met. Pat was known for his quick wit, excellent storytelling skills, and knack for giving friends and family just the right nickname.
Pat was a kind, caring, and true gentleman who cherished every moment spent with his family. His genuine warmth and unwavering compassion made him a beloved figure among friends and loved ones alike. Whether it was a quiet evening at home or a festive family gathering, Pat found his greatest joy in the company of those he held dear. His love for his family was evident in the countless memories they created together, each one a testament to his enduring devotion and gentle spirit.
Pat was preceded in death by his loving wife of 51 years, Glenda. He is survived by his son, Brian Farrell, and grandchildren, Chloe and Owen; and his daughter, Gina McKay (Glen), and grandchildren, Emma O'Donnell (Aaron), Luke, Logan, and Connor; and his sisters, Merriann Firnstahl (Tim) and Maureen MacLean (Doug).
A graveside service will be held at 12:00 PM on January 30, 2025, at Green Hills Memorial Cemetery in Burlington, followed by a celebration of life at 1:00 PM at the Skagit Golf and Country Club. In lieu of flowers, donations in Patrick's memory can be made to the Skagit Golf and Country Club Junior Golf Scholarship Fund.
