Patrick Ryan Plummer, 73, passed away on June 9, 2020 in Mount Vernon, Washington. He was born in Glasgow, Montana. His grade school and high school years were in Missoula, Montana. In
1967 Pat enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and was honorably discharged in 1970. Pat's return home gave him opportunity to work at his parent's business, the Missoula Community Nursing Home. Pat started as a maintenance person, then with the testing needed he became the administrator of the nursing home. After a few years, the family was offered a deal to sell the family business.
Pat had caught the bug of sailing, and after buying a 30-foot sailboat, he sailed from LaConner, Washington to the Hawaiian Islands.
As he settled into the Hawaiian way of life, he started a new business of embroidery on the big island- Kona Embroidery, utilizing his art talent in designing logos for hotels, restaurants, and golf resorts.
At this time, he met Carol and their love grew into a family when Makenzie arrived In June 1991. Years later he returned to the mainland and was home when both his parents passed.
Pat enjoyed playing golf with family and friends into his 60's. Other interests were bowling and sailing. He was a member of the Elks Club.
He was preceded in death by his parents Katy and Fred Plummer.
Pat is survived by his son Makenzie Plummer of Costa Mesa, CA, brother Ron Plummer and his partner Aa DaWald of Spokane, WA, niece Wendy Nall and her husband Marty Nall, great nephew Zach Nall of Gilbert, AZ, niece Shelle Plummer, great nephew Brandon DeSousa, great niece Alexa DeSousa, nephews Matthew Plummer of Spokane, WA and Darren Plummer of Chicago, IL, sister Krystel Plummer Hansen and her husband Dr. Michael Hansen of Billings, MT.
United State Marine Corps Honor Guard will provide military honors for Pat's service at Lakeview Cemetery, Polson, MT at 3:00pm on Friday, July 10, 2020.
Memorials can be made in Pat's name to the Veterans Semper Fi Fund, the Elks Foundation, or a charity of your choice.
