IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Paula June
Boswell
March 20, 1929 – April 9, 2016
Paula June Pound Boswell passed away April 9, 2016. She was a Loving Mother, Grandmother, Great-grandmother, Aunt and she leaves daughters Victoria Ray (Fred), Kathleen Amodei (Louis); Son Scott Saxwold (Christina); Grandchildren J.R. Ray, Larry Griffen, Jamie Childress, Katie Saxwold; Great Grandchildren Carmen Ray, Rachel Ray and Numerous Nieces and Nephews
Paula June Pound was born on March 20, 1929 in Kirkland , WA . The family eventually moved to the "Stump Ranch" in Port Orchard. Paula and her 1 sister and six brothers spent their childhood playing in the woods, climbing trees and roaming the beaches of the Puget Sound . During this time, Paula met her lifelong and dear friend, June. Of the two of them, Paula was the mischief maker. Imagine that!
During WWII, the large and unruly Pound clan moved to West Seattle . At the High Point Teen Club, where she would Jitterbug with the best of them, Paula met many friends she would have for the rest of her life.
She met and married Gordy Saxwold, one of the Gulch Gang, in 1948. Together they had four children and resided in Burien , WA .
Throughout her life, from her residence in Bellingham to her beloved home on Lake McMurray where she resided for 37 years, her home was always open to all who needed a place to stay. Paula was always known for her beauty (private joke) and was preceded in death by husbands Gordy Saxwold, Dale Storhow and Richard Boswell.
Although sickly with polio when born, she lived a remarkable 87 years. She was always learning new things; her kindle, facebook and the internet. She always had time to listen and help others with their problems and loved to have her family get together at the lake.
If you stopped by on a Sunday afternoon, chances are she would be watching Nascar, the Seahawks, Golf, Horseracing or baseball snuggled up in her chair with her beloved and faithful companion, Waldo. If she had trouble sleeping at night she tuned into Mike and Mike. Let's not forget her "soaps" or the "Wheel".
Thank you Skagit Valley Herald carriers for bringing her newspaper to her door each morning. We also "Thank you" Julie Sprouse for your friendship and help. You are a very special person. Also, we give a special "Thank You" to the Lake McMurray Fire Dept. There will be a Celebration of life Sunday, May 15, 2016, 12:00 – 3:00pm at Anthony's Home Port in Des Moines, WA.Visits: 0
