Mrs. Paula Silva, age 90, passed away on 10-8-2017. She was born on 06-29-1927, to Mr. and Mrs. Geronimo Zuniga; she was the 2 ^nd to the youngest of 7 children.  Paula took up playing several musical instruments and she excelled at playing guitar. She found cooking to be her main interest and realized she had a natural knack for it as well as being a mother, a wife to Julian Silva who passed on 12-26-2010. Her cooking ventures lead her to open her own restaurant as well as cater to local venues where she and her daughter received grand reviews. A mother of 10 children with 36 grand children and many great grand children with more added everyday! She was a predominate figure in the Apostolic church where she leaves her extended family members to mourn the loss of a sister in Christ! The Matriarch of her house where the major holidays were her favorite simply because she was surrounded by all she held dearly… her family! The Zuniga-Silva family would like to thank Mount Vernon New Hope Apostolic Assembly, Skagit Hospice, Prestige Care and Rehabilitation Center, Harts Floral, as well as Hawthorne Funeral Home and Memorial, Mount Vernon Cemetery and services for all they have done before and after Paula's passing. Most of all we want you all to know Your Mother, Aunt, Sister, Daughter, Grand Mother, Great Grand Mother and Friend has gone home to share her love with the one's that went before her! Paula you will be greatly missed more than words could ever write. Viewing will be held on Thursday 10-12-17, 10 AM to 4 PM @ Hawthorne Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, WA. Celebration of Paula's life at Church of Nazarene in Mount Vernon on 10-12-17 from 5 – 7 PM, Memorial Service held on Friday 10-13-17 from 1-2 PM, and Burial Service and reception to follow.
