Obituary

Rebecca Elizabeth Bonner (West) passed away peacefully on January 8 th , 2022, in Mount Vernon, Washington with family at her side.

Becky was born September 15 th ,1957 in Roseville, California to parents Calvin and Imogene West.  Calvin and Imogene were ministers of the gospel. Together they moved around California pastoring with Becky and her four siblings Virginia Aston, Anna Wisdom, Esther Terry and Butch West. They resided in many parts of California such as Roseville, Folsom, Shingle Springs, Placerville, Acampo and Galt. Becky loved her horse Red, riding motorcycles, going to church, helping with the family beekeeping business and working on the farm. She graduated from Galt High School in 1975.

Becky had her sons Brad and Eric from a previous marriage before meeting Bill in 1987. Becky and Bill fell in love and were married in Fairbanks, Alaska on June 15 th ,1990. In 1991, William Bonner Jr. was born. Bill and Becky decided to move from Lodi, California to Mount Vernon, Washington in 1992 with their three sons: Bradley, Eric and William.

Bill is an electrician and Becky was a stay-at-home Mom in a home full of pets and a constant influx of neighborhood kids. Becky loved animals and her kids' friends were always welcome in her home. She enjoyed taking her boys to and from sports, camping, fishing, boating, canoeing or anything outdoors.

She cherished being at home with her family and having them over for barbeques.  She enjoyed painting, going on walks, visiting with her family and playing with her granddaughter.   Becky was very caring and would be there for anyone in need.  She was always a good listener and someone to talk to.  She wasn't the best with technology but sure loved getting snap chats and messages from all her friends and family.

Becky was a singer. Being at her home you would often hear her singing anything and everything. This was passed down from her parents Calvin and Imogene. Calvin, before he was a minister, was a country and western singer. Imogene loved to sing as well and would travel around attending as many gospel singings as she could.

Most of all Becky wouldn't let you leave her home without a hug and sometimes ran after you laughing while trying to get another one. Her laugh was genuine, loud and contagious. If you were ever down, her laugh would lift you up. No matter what you knew you were loved by her.

It is hard to put into words what a wonderful person she was and how much she will be missed.  Becky will be remembered and loved forever.

Rebecca was preceded in death by her father, Calvin, her mother, Imogene and sister, Virginia.

Becky will be deeply missed by her surviving family.  Who include her husband, Bill Bonner; sons, Brad Ellis (her daughter-in-law Staci Ellis; granddaughter Kinley Ellis), Eric Ellis and William Bonner Jr; Mother-in-law, Arvita Bonner; her brother Butch West; her sisters, Anna Wisdom and Esther Terry; and many other family and friends.
