Rhea Jean McMains Patterson 1918-2010 Rhea Patterson passed peacefully on Dec. 21, 2010. She was the daughter of Ralph and Bertha McMains of Stanwood, WA. She attended school in Cedarhome, Mt. Vernon Union High School and Business College. Rhea Patterson was employed for over 30 years as a secretary at Sea First Bank and Bank of America in Mount Vernon and Everett. Rhea was an accomplished musician, playing the organ for many years. In her retirement she enjoyed her garden and beautiful fuchsias and the "pet" squirrels, raccoons and humming birds. Rhea enjoyed visiting with her family and her many friends. She loved to linger over her coffee and tell delightful stories. Rhea was active in the Marysville Rock and Gem Club and also enjoyed knitting, drawing and oil painting. She loved her little dogs that gave Rhea great joy and comfort. Rhea was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Richard McMains. She is survived by her son, David Patterson of Mount Vernon, and his wife Janet, and their family, and by niece Sandy Charles and husband Bob. Rhea is also survived by her long time companion of 37 years, Billie Joe Plunkett of Everett, WA. . We thank Hospice and the compassionate staff at Josephine Home in Stanwood for the care they provided Rhea during her final 2 months. Rhea had an amazingly active and full life for 91 years.
